What is British Council accreditation?

Accreditation provides students with a guarantee of quality.

Accreditation UK, run by the British Council and English UK, is the only internationally recognised quality assurance scheme for private English schools in the UK. The British Council regularly inspects schools in the UK offering courses in English as a foreign language.

The inspection checks quality standards in teaching, course design, management, resources, student welfare and  accommodation provision. Good schools which meet agreed standards of quality they are accredited by the British Council.

From March 2009 any students who need a visa to study English in the UK will only be awarded a visa if they study at an accredited school.
