Understanding the UK visa system
If you require a visa to study in the UK we strongly recommend that you take time to research and understand the UK visa system before applying and only apply if you are confident of being successful. The following information provides a basic introduction only.
Who needs a visa?
You will need a visa to study in the UK if you are from a country outside the European Economic Area.
What type of visa do I need?
There are two types of visa you can apply for. These are:

Visa requirements
You will need to:
* In the case of students applying from Thailand and Colombia it is advisable to study for a minimum of 20 hours a week as visa applications for 15 hours a week courses are often rejected.
Procedure
- Choose a course and complete the LUT application form.
- LUT will provide an invoice for payment by the student
- Once the course fees have been paid in full LUT will issue a Certificate of Acceptance to Study (CAS) letter.
- The student can then apply for a visa.
